Bolton Wanderers traveled to Cardiff City Stadium to take on the Champions in what was always going to be a vital clash for Bolton's play-off hopes. It was very much a party atmosphere in Cardiff as the Red Dragons were all set to lift a trophy, no matter the match's outcome. If you were not one of the 1,700 Bolton fans that made the trip, here are the match highlights for you.
The Trotters would do their best to spoil the celebrations but it was Adam Bogdan who would do the work early on. The goalkeeper made a huge stop in the game's opening minutes as Jordon Mutch found himself in way too much space.
Sam Ricketts was the provider for the match's opening goal as he broke into the box from the right wing and squared it to Chris Eagles. The winger took the chance first time and finished extremely well low and to the far post.
Adam Bogdan would be called into action again in the second half, making a spectacular stop on Tommy Smith after diving nearly the whole width of the goal. Unfortunately, just a few minutes later, Cardiff would equalize. Craig Noone's free kick beat Bogdan at the near post and was the game's final goal.
Cardiff City would pressure the Trotters for the rest of the match and would eventually lift the trophy without much trouble. The point kept Bolton in the play-off places.
