Who doesn't love it when Bolton Wanderers get their business done early? Dougie Freedman is apparently keen to make his mark on the club and make it soon. We knew that Freedman was looking to add a pair of names and the initial report from last week made it clear that the news was just around the corner.
"We will be signing two players by the end of this month no matter what division we're in and there's another three that are on the sheet that the chairman's aware of.
"That may make one or two people move on but that's life in football, that's the way it goes.
"No matter what, I sign a certain type of player with a certain DNA. It doesn't matter what division we're in, I know what players we're going to go after.
"It's not about spending the biggest money, it's about getting the right targets. I have planned for that and I think it's always crucial to do that.
"I think I'd like to balance the squad up a little bit. With the amount of centre-halves we've got and centre-midfielders we have I just need to balance it up in the wider areas and that's what we're going to do.
According to a brand new report out of the Bolton News, the signings are incoming and could be announced "in the space of 24 hours" as the "two major signings" will look to slot into the first team straight away. The defender will most likely be a fullback as Wanderers are threadbare in those areas and speculation is rife about just who it may be.
One of the more likely players to come in is out-of-contract Crystal Palace midfielder Owen Garvan. He was linked with a move the Reebok just last week. Either way, it seems that Dougie is planning for a busy summer.
