Birmingham City away moved for TV, more good news for non-traveling fans

Ben Hoskins

Bolton's October away date at Birmingham City has been rescheduled in order for Sky to show the game live on TV. The match at St. Andrews Park, originally scheduled for a 3pm local kickoff on Saturday, 5 August, has now been pushed up to 12:15pm in order to get the match live on Sky. This is the third match of the season to be shown on Sky and we're only up to October in the scheduling. Last season, Wanderers only had two matches shown on TV.

The Trotters will open up the 2013/14 season on the 3rd of August with a 12:15pm kickoff against Burnley at Turf Moor in what is a specially-arranged derby to celebrate 125 years of the Football League. Later in the month, Wanderers will welcome Queens Park Rangers to the Reebok in front of the cameras for another game to be shown on Sky. That one will take place on the 24th of August with another 12:15pm kickoff.

These TV matches signal good news for fans not in the immediate area or those unable to travel that want to watch their teams.
