Highlights of Rotherham United 2-1 Bolton Wanderers

Jamie McDonald

On Tuesday night, Bolton Wanderers played their first match of the pre-season, a match that would ultimately end a 2-1 loss to the Trotters at Rotherham's New York Stadium. Dougie Freedman's lineups were very experimental ones, fielding a mix of new players, youngsters, and longer-term squad members.

Wanderers started the match with Adam Bogdan, Tyrone Mears, Matt Mills, Cian Bolger, Tim Ream, Keith Andrews, Jan Gregus, Rob Hall, Chris Lester, Marvin Sordell, Conor Wilkinson. The bench was made up of mostly familiar names, including Jay Lynch, Chris Eagles, Zat Knight, Alex Baptsite, Joe Riley, Darren Pratley, Marc Tierney, Craig Davies, Sanmi Odelusi, Medo Kamara, and one mystery trialist who has not yet been revealed.

Bolton would score first with new boy Rob Hall breaking into the area and brushing off a few challenged. The winger cut it back well to Marvin Sordell on the edge of the six yard box, finishing from close range. Rotherham United would equalize and ultimately take the lead through a Revell header and slotted Nardiello effort, respectively. The full highlights are below.
