Highlights of Bolton Wanderers 0-2 Real Betis

David Ramos

On Friday night, Bolton Wanderers completed their pre-season slate of four games losing to Real Betis to go winless over the summer. The Trotters used the opportunities to warm players up, give some fringe players a look, and try to get some rhythm amongst the new look defense. With the season kicking off in just a week, there is still some ways for Dougie Freedman's team to go.

Bolton Wanderers started very well against Real Betis, nearly scoring right from the off. They were however beaten by a clearly superior team on the night. Wanderers were out-passed, out-possessed, and out-shot. The first goal was the result of a fortunate deflection from David Wheater's free kick while the second was an absolutely unstoppable piledriver of a free kick Joan Verdu.

Wanderers now have seven days to regroup, seven days to figure out their issues, and seven days to get ready for what will be a tough test at Turf Moor.
