Loan watch: Full 90s for Andrews & Fraser, Sordell has no chance to miss

Mark Runnacles

It was a busy league weekend once again and there were Trotters involved in matches that didn't involve embarrassing defeats at the City Ground. Bolton Wanderers currently have three players out on loan elsewhere in the Championship and in the Scottish Premier League. Two of those three players were involved in their (currently) temporary's club's matches.

19-year-old Gary Fraser once again started for Partick Thistle and went the full 90 in what would ultimately be a 1-1 draw for Thistle at Firhill against Heart of Midlothian. Manager Alan Archibald went with the same lineup that beat Ross County 1-3 last week. Gary Fraser started in the center of the park for the Jags and caused Hearts some problems, nearly missing on a few shots, creating opportunities from corners, and nearly assisting a goal that was well saved by Hearts' goalkeeper. The Jags drop a couple spots in the SPL table to fifth following the draw. They travel to Motherwell for league play next weekend.

Keith Andrews started and went the full 90 minutes in Brighton & Hove Albion's 1-0 away win at Birmingham City. There really wasn't too much of note from Andrews' performance other than it was solid. Andrews was largely comfortable in his lateral passing and made a few tackles in the center of the park to help protect the clean sheet.

Finally, Marvin Sordell, who has not yet found the net for Charlton Athletic, completely missed out in his team's match. Chris Powell elected to go for Simon Church instead of Sordell with the selection proving justified. Charlton came back from 2-0 down at Barnsley to save a point with Church scoring the equalizer. Marvin Sordell has to find the back of the net for the Addicks and soon.
