After 19 months of fundraising, beer brewing, clay model sculpting, and putting the details into bronze, Bolton Wanderers have officially unveiled the statue of Nat Lofthouse that will permanently sit outside the Reebok Stadium's North-West corner. The statue, completed by Sean Hedges-Quinn, stands nine feet tall, not counting the plinth on which it is resting, has been revealed three days shy of what would have been Lofthouse's 88th birthday.
The project had been a long time coming but it looks as though the wait was worth it. It is truly great to see Bolton Wanderers honoring the club's greatest hero in such a way.
In the next hour, the club will unveil the Nat Lofthouse Statue. This is how it currently looks now. #BWFC pic.twitter.com/9c1MpnvMAN
