Highlights of Tranmere Rovers 1-1 Bolton Wanderers (4-2 penalties included)

Bolton Wanderers crashed out of the League Cup after a very disappointing performance and penalties against Tranmere Rovers. If you were not at Prenton Park, these are the highlights for you.

Rovers opened the scoring on the stroke of halftime through Stockton, who brought the ball down to himself, easily rounded Zat Knight, and finished well with a curling effort that beat Andy Lonergan at the far post. Bolton would equalize midway through the second half after substitutes Andre Moritz and Jermaine Beckford combined through a clever pass from the former. Beckford did well to finish past an onrushing Owain fon Williams.

Neither side could break the deadlock after extra time and into penalties we went. Tranmere Rovers made all of their efforts count while Bolton Wanderers floundered. Andre Moritz' little stutter step effort was saved by Owain fon Williams to the kicker's left before Beckford and Mills made theirs. Alex Baptiste was Bolton's last hope and his poor penalty not really near the corner was saved easily enough by Tranmere's goalkeeper, leading Bolton to crash out.

Below is a much longer video of just the penalty shootout. Be warned that the language is not safe for work.
