These matches used to be a bit more glamorous when Sam Allardyce and Mark Hughes were patrolling the touchline. But we are where we are, and the team sheets do offer some interesting tactical talking points. Ngog and Beckford are still both starting. It may be one behind the other, it may be a true pairing up top, or Ngog may be dropping into the midfield. Dougie Freedman has tried all three this season, and none have worked because Beckford is crap.
David Wheater returns from his midweek knock to start alongside Zat Knight, while ALex Baptiste moves over to the left and Tyrone Mears takes up the right back position. There have been many voices calling for Mears to resume his starting duties, but I don't believe Baptiste on the left was what they had in mind.
What do you think of this team? Are they good enough to get a point? All three?
