Highlights of Bolton Wanderers 0-1 Leeds United

Michael Steele

Calling this short video a set of highlights without a hint of sarcasm would be a bit misguided as there was very little positive about Bolton Wanderers in their 1-0 loss against Leeds United at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday. It was Bolton's fourth straight loss and the sixth straight without a win. It was also the third time in this young season that the Trotters had been held scoreless and the sixth in which no forward managed a goal.

Leeds scored very early into the match, on the seven minute mark, to win the match from a corner. Luke Murphey's ball into the box was met by Luke Varney after he beat his marker, (what looked to be after some initial confusion) Alex Baptiste, to the ball.

Bolton failed to respond, not testing Leeds goalkeeper Paddy Kenny until very late on when a Darren Pratley effort inside the penalty area forced a fingertip save from the man in net. Whether the ball was actually on target was and is unclear but it simply was not good enough from Bolton Wanderers.
