Highlights of Brighton & Hove Albion 3-1 Bolton Wanderers

Charlie Crowhurst

It was a poor weekend out for Bolton Wanderers as they once again completely failed to win (or take anything) from a football match. The Trotters were leading but could do nothing with their positive position before completely and utterly capitulating, letting Brighton equalize, take the lead, and stick the dagger, all within a four minute stretch.

Bolton's opener came as the result of a Chung-Yong Lee corner to the near post that was meant for an onrushing David Ngog. Brighton's David Lopez seemingly got the last touch, sending it past goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak for the opener midway through the first half.

The second half was all Brighton's. Jay Spearing gave up a free kick and from the resulting play, deflected the ball past Adam Bogdan after trying to head clear to gift Brighton the equalizer. Then, Inigo Calderon took the lead through a half-volley that made it through three Trotters standing off of their man, forcing a delayed reaction from the Bolton goalkeeper due to his being completely screened until the ball bypassed the last man. Finally, the Bolton defense completely broke down and allowed Will Buckley to cut inside and curl the ball past Bogdan to the far post, putting the game completely out of reach for Bolton.
