Official: Leicester City's Neil Danns in for three months, gets number 18

Michael Regan

Following yesterday's report of a new move into the Reebok Stadium, Bolton Wanderers have confirmed that Leicester City midfielder Neil Danns has signed on with a three month loan deal. Danns is pretty far behind in the midfield pecking order at Leicester and thus has not made many appearances in the division since signing with the Foxes on a free ahead of the 2011/12 season

The midfielder has worked with Dougie Freedman before with the two having slightly overlapping stints at Crystal Palace before Dougie Freedman left the club as a player. When the current Bolton boss returned as an assistant manager in March, 2010, Danns was playing under him and then again for a few more months when Freedman was handed total control of the reins in January, 2011.

The club have handed Neil Danns the number 18 shirt. That kit number had most recently been worn by Sam Ricketts who took over it from the likes of Nicky Hunt, Jared Borgetti, Mikel Alonso, and Sébastien Puygrenier.
