Speaking to the Bolton News here, Wanderers winger Chris Eagles has declared his intention to stay at the club and sign a new contract.
Eagles said:
"I have never spoken about leaving the club,"
I am here, I am happy.
The gaffer will vouch for me. It's just all paper talk.
I have never once said I am leaving the club or want to. I am a Bolton player and I love playing for them."
It has been reported that Wanderers and manager Dougie Freedman remain unwilling to discuss extensions to the contracts of the six players whose current deals expire in the summer - Andre Moritz, Stuart Holden, Zat Knight, Tyrone Mears, David Ngog and Eagles due to the club's current financial difficulties.
Former Manchester United and Burnley man Eagles recently made his 100th appearance for the club, though has struggled for form this season due to a recurring ankle injury as he battles to recover the excellent form that made him Bolton Wanderers' main man in the 2012/13 season where he finished the season as top goalscorer with twelve goals, and also created the most number of goals, with twelve assists (though everybody knows that assists don't matter),
