Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder/attacker/substitute Andre Moritz has rescinded his contract with Korean side Pohang Steelers to earn a lucrative move to India.
Mumbai City FC has signed up attacking midfielder Andre Moritz ahead of its Hero Indian Super League (ISL) opener against Atletico de Kolkata on October 12 at the Salt Lake Stadium.
The 28-year-old Brazilian-born Italian passport holder can now add India to an eclectic career that has taken him to England, Turkey and his homeland of Brazil.
Moritz joined Bolton Wanderers on a one-year deal on 1 August 2013. On 9 November, Moritz scored his first goal for Bolton Wanderers against Millwall in a 3-1 victory. On 1 July 2014 Bolton confirmed that at the expiration of his contract, Moritz had left the club.
On 29 September 2014, South Korean Club, Pohang Steelers announced that Moritz joined the club on two year contract although it appears that the lure of a better payday has swayed him towards the newly created ISL which will feature luminaries such as former Arsenal men Fredrik Ljungberg and Robert Pires, along with former Juventus and Monaco striker David Trezeguet who once blanked me at Euro Disney in Paris.
