Unpopular Coach Fullarton Sacked by Bolton Wanderers

I'm sure there'll be a few people pleased at this news

Mike Hewitt

Taking to Twitter this morning, Bolton Wanderers have announced that Jamie Fullarton has left his role as development coach by mutual consent.

The former Bolton player and 18-cap Scottish U21 midfielder had been in his post since being appointed by previous manager Dougie Freedman who was his pal and boss at Crystal Palace. Fullarton is expected to continue to oversee his football academy, Costa Unida, in Spain.

The departure of Fullarton comes as no shock given the reported antipathy towards him and his coaching methods by several members of the reserve squad and members of the club's academy.

This news will hopefully see a resurgence in morale amongst the younger players.

Wanderers have appointed Neil Lennon to replace Freedman and we expect news of a replacement for Fullarton in the coming weeks.
