Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon is hoping that previously injured on-loan Cardiff City striker Joe Mason can return for the upcoming game against Brentford at the Macron Stadium tomorrow.
The 23 year old Plymouth-born striker withdrew from the Wanderers squad that fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Charlton Athletic in midweek with a slight hamstring strain.
Saturday brings about Lennon's first home game and following the lack of options granted by the underperforming strikers Jermaine Beckford and Craig Davies should see the return of Mason into the squad.
On-loan Mason has started a game just once since the 1-0 defeat at Wolves on September 20.
Despite his infrequent appearances, Mason has managed four goals in just six outings this season, following a mediocre loan spell under former Whites boss Dougie Freedman last season which yielded six goals in 16 appearances split over two separate loan spells.
Not a huge fan of Mason, personally, but damn he's better than the others.
Liam Trotter could also be back in contention following a 45 minute outing for the reserves in a 2-2 draw at home to Stoke City on Monday.
