The Bolton Evening News reported yesterday that Bolton Wanderers boss Neil Lennon is still holding American midfielder Stu Holden in his transfer plans.

The manager said:

"He came in to see us last week,"

He continued:

"He is doing his rehab in Los Angeles. We have just said 'when you are fit and ready come over to Bolton and we will have a look at you again.'

"He is a lovely boy and a good player. The door is definitely open for him to come back."

Holden has made just three appearances for the Whites since sustaining the first of a series of horrendous knee injuries in a challenge with Manchester United's Northern Irish midfielder Jonny Evans back in 2011.

He remains a fan favourite at the Reebok Stadium despite his fleeting Wanderers career.

The talented and extremely likeable former Sunderland and Houston Dynamo player carries with him the best wishes of all Bolton Wanderers fans and we watch his return with great interest.
