Lennon Pleased with Wanderers' Intensity vs Cardiff

Bolton boss discusses his approach to the game

Jamie McDonald

Speaking to the club website, Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon has been discussing the obvious increase in the levels of intensity shown by his squad.

The manager said:

"It's certainly the best we've played since I've been here,"

He continued:

"We were up against a very good side in Cardiff who have started well under Russell Slade, who himself is a very good manager.

"There was a good intensity and tempo to our play and we showed some real quality in the final third.

Lennon then went on to say:

"Everyone tonight can be satisfied with their performance."

Can you imagine Dougie Freedman saying that?

I think not.

The 3-0 was certainly comprehensive and it is clear that the new manager's impact on the squad has been telling. Even the defeats to Charlton Athletic and Norwich City came with a degree of improvement for Bolton and the future is looking rosy under the 43yr old Northern Irishman.
