Ex-Bolton Wanderers captain and bona fide legend Kevin Davies has announced the date of his much-anticipated testimonial match.

Davies, currently at Preston North End in League One, has provisionally confirmed that the fixture will take place on either 31st July or 1st August of 2015.

The player, a veteran of some 407 appearances for the club, has revealed that a plethora of club legends and famous names will join him on the hallowed Reebok turf in 2015 for the celebration of his career.

An already confirmed list includes the likes of Stelios, Ivan Campo, Anthony Barness, Henrik Pedersen and Nicky Hunt, with other names to follow. Rumoured attendees include Ricardo Gardner, Fernando Hierro and Gary Cahill but these will no doubt be added to in due course.

There is also word of a pre-match 'celebrity game' involving some of SKD's famous mates such as Vernon Kay, Anthony Cotton and Ralf Little.

Exactly how this will work is unknown at this stage, but remembering the Jussi Jaaskelainen testimonial we saw a pre-game friendly involving ex-Wanderers before the club's first team took on Scottish side Hibernian. I fully expect the same to take place here.

Davies is well deserving of this testimonial game, and I for one cannot wait to attend and offer my thank you to the man for his contribution to our wonderful club.
