Well there's a headline I never thought I'd write

As per this report from the Bolton Evening News, former Liverpool, Aston Villa, Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic forward Emile Heskey will make his Bolton Wanderers bow in an Under 21 game at home to Reading tonight.

The game is scheduled to take place at Leyland's County Ground in the Premier League Cup.

Lennon, who played with the ex-England international striker at Leicester City, said of the game:

"You can't rush these things and he's got a bit of work to do to get to the level we'd like him to be at.

Lennon then said:

"There's a game on Monday and he may profit from playing in that. If we can get the okay to do that, we're going to work him hard in training and get him up to speed.

He continued:

"Eventually we'll have to get his registration from Australia. You know how long it took with Eidur and it may take longer with that."

It has also been rumoured that Wanderers have already applied to the Australian FA to secure Heskey's registration in an attempt to avoid the sort of delay that meant recent signing Eidur Gudjohnsen missed the Reading game due to cross-border red tape.
