Bolton Wanderers fans have been dancing in the streets following news that ex-White Youri Djorkaeff has been confirmed as the latest attendee of the upcoming Kevin Davies testimonial game.
The French attacker twitterised:
Will always be there @Kevin__Davies to set you up for a beautiful goal #bwfc #testimonial @OfficialBWFC
— Youri Djorkaeff (@youridjorkaeff) December 3, 2014
What followed was a series of rapturous replies each with a variation of the 'ZOMG' theme.
Djorkaeff of course is a familiar name to Wanderers fans, earning the moniker 'Le God' during his stay in the North West. He arrived at the club with in 2002 under the supervision of legendary manager Sam Allardyce.
His three seasons at the club garnered an impressive return of 20 goals in 75 games, bringing a Galactico element to the club alongside footballing luminaries such as Fernando Hierro, Jay-Jay Okocha, and former Real Madrid midfielder Iván Campo.
Djorkaeff and Davies formed quite the partnership during those years and it'll be a truly wonderful sight to see him pull on the famous white shirt again. The fixture is still TBC but is expected either 31st August or 1st September 2015 at the Reebok Stadium.
The twitter account of the event posted the following last night:
Quick update on a few confirmed players. Campo-Stelios-Djorkaeff-Pedersen-Jaidi-Muamba-Barness-Hunt-Holdsworth more to follow soon
