In conversation with the Bolton Evening News, Wanderers boss Neil Lennon has been discussing the current form of attacker Max Clayton, with a view to helping the former Crewe Alexandra man improve his game.
The 20-year old has been asked to play in an unfamiliar outside left position given Bolton Wanderers' paucity of choice in attacking options, and his manager believes that this may be a cause of his recent inconsistency.
Lennon said:
"Max is doing okay, he's another player who seems to get better as the game goes on,"
He continued:
"He's a little bit too eager at times, which is the exuberance of youth I suppose."
"Josh Vela is similar. He's playing out of position and both are doing a very fine job for us."
The manager then went on to say:
"The experience they are getting is fantastic for them and when you are in a winning team it breeds a lot of confidence."
