The Sun has today reported that Bolton Wanderers boss Neil Lennon has returned to his former club in order to check out the progress of right back Adam Matthews and attacker Kris Commons.

Both players have been linked with a move to Bolton in the papers since Lennon made his move, but the Bolton boss was at the Celtic home win over Partick Thistle last night, a game in which the Hoops won 1-0.

Full back Matthews completed the full 90mins whilst Commons played the final 18mins on his comeback from injury.

The 22yr old Matthews joined Celtic from Cardiff City in 2011, going on to make 80 appearances, scoring three goals, whereas Commons, a former Derby County and Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder, also arrived at Celtic Park in 2011, scoring an unbelievable 53 goals in 108 games.

Both would make excellent additions to the Wanderers squad and let's hope that Lennon is given the backing required to bring them in.
