It has been reported tonight that Bolton Wanderers are to take former IFK Göteborg defender Mikael Dyrestam on a week-long trial starting on Monday.
22 year old right back/centre half Dyrestam is of Guinean descent though also possesses a Swedish passport. He left IFK Göteborg at the end of the 2013 season having made a total of 67 appearances for the club.
Bolton manager Dougie Freedman is clearly on the lookout for defensive reinforcements as he tries to arrest the club's seemingly-inexorable slide towards relegation to League One.
Alex Baptiste, Matt Mills, Zat Knight and Tim Ream have been the back four of choice for the majority of the season, and the need to freshen things up has never been as important as it is now as we approach the arse-end of the league campaign with Wanderers struggling in the lower-bottom-half of the Championship after a frankly terrible season to date.
We will watch his progress with interest.
