It is believed that the mystery man is Joe Mason, who had an uneventful loan spell at the club earlier this season which resulted in a single goal (and even that was debatable) from eight appearances.
In Mason's favour, he was asked to play an unfamiliar game whilst at the club, and the Cardiff loanee would surely benefit from playing off a physical striker-partner in the mould of Lukas Jutkiewicz whose own impressive performances have been crying out for a co-striker with the mobility that Mason could potentially provide.
Potentially.
22 year old Plymouth-born Mason has made three appearances for Cardiff City this season, all of which have been in cup competitions.
