Confirmation has just arrived via Bolton Wanderers' official Twitter feed that Cardiff striker Joe Mason has rejoined the club on loan.

Mason joins the club on a short term loan until 12th April - not quite sure why the Twitter account says April 12 - which is shorter than expected but has been put down to a strange quirk of the transfer system which means that had manager Dougie Freedman signed a 'new' striker, rather than one who played for us previously, we would have qualified for the entire 93 day emergency loan period.
We all remember Mason from a somewhat underwhelming loan spell earlier in the season in which he made eight appearances, scoring just the one goal. In his defence he was poorly utilised by Freedman's side, though the form of other loanee Lukas Jutkiewicz has been such that it would harsh on the Middlesbrough man to see him dropped for the previously-ineffectual Mason.
Then again, with Dougie-logic, Jutkiewicz's goalscoring form of late will probably warrant a drop to the bench soon.
