Terribly sad news for the American midfielder who of course has had no end of injury woes since the Jonny Evans incident. Holden is now facing another repair task, including a 'graft' of a tendon from his hamstring, and with the above tweet confirming now that he will miss the remainder of 2014.
On a happier note, it has emerged tonight that his long-term girlfriend has accepted his proposal of marriage, and we all wish them the best of luck going forward.

You have to think that this latest setback will mean the end of his playing career at Bolton Wanderers, if not in the professional game in general.
