Wanderers Under 18 Side Win Again

It's getting predictable now.....

Alex Livesey

David Lee's Bolton U18 side earned back-to-back away wins with a 3-0 triumph away to Middlesbrough yesterday.

Wanderers midfielder Jamie Thomas opened the scoring following a long-range free-kick after 25 minutes, which was swiftly followed up by a Will Abbotts volley on 35 minutes. Austrian prospect Christopher Cvetko completed the scoring by hitting a third goal after 50 minutes to make the game secure and make it six points in the FA U18 Premier League in four days for David Lee and Tony Kelly's youngsters.

The win came hot on the heels over a 3-2 away win over Wolves on Saturday, with a brace from Abbotts and another from Jamie Thomas.

Speaking to the BEN, Lee said:

"I was really pleased with the players' application and togetherness in both games.

"After a difficult week's training, due to only having six or eight players for each session with players either away on international duty, injuries, and some training with the development squad, the character and application throughout the week was testament to the calibre of players here at the academy."
