Wanderers Extend Alan Hutton Loan

Good news as Scottish defender prolongs stay in a proper town

Jamie McDonald

Bolton Wanderers have today announced that a deal has been agreed to extend the loan of 29 year old Scottish right back Alan Hutton from Aston Villa until the end of the season.

The Scottish international defender's initial one-month loan contract came to an end following Saturday's 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic at the Reebok. Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman wrote in his programme notes that an extension agreement had been made, and indeed today the club confirmed that Hutton will remain at the club for the final seven games of the season.

Former Glasgow Rangers full back Hutton, who started his Bolton career somewhat slowly, has since grown into a key member of the back four, and has been something of a lucky charm, having made five appearances at right-back and been on the losing side just once, in the March 2-0 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

He is out of contract at his parent club in the summer and despite his undoubtedly lofty salary he would be a transfer target for Wanderers should his impressive form continue.
