Joe Mason returns to Cardiff Following Loan Spell

Mason leaves Bolton with a better impression than he did at Christmas

Joe Mason has left Bolton Wanderers and returned to parent club Cardiff City, having completed the maximum 93 day loan spell signed in February..

Following a disappointing first loan spell which yielded just one goal in eight, the 22-year-old former Plymouth Argyle forward has gone on to score six goals for Wanderers including two in their last two matches, a 1-0 win at Huddersfield and their 2-1 victory against Doncaster away, forming a successful partnership with fellow loanee Lukas Jutkiewicz.

Bolton assistant Lennie Lawrence said:

"Joe has done a good job for the team and we would have loved him to stay"

It is thought that Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman will return to Cardiff in an attempt to sign Mason again next season, though of course this will depend on how the Premiership club finish the current season. If they are to be relegated it will then likely be virtually impossible to persuade them to loan Mason to a divisional rival.

We wish Joe well for his future career, except of course whenever he comes up against Bolton Wanderers.
