Internet gossip has today linked Bolton Wanderers with a loan move for Chelsea midfielder Jeremie Boga for the 2014/15 season.
Boga, an attacking midfielder currently playing in Chelsea's Under-21 and Under-18 teams, is a French U16 international who made his reserve team debut before he had even made an appearance for the Under-18s, starting and playing 90 minutes against Fulham in February 2012.
A few weeks later he made his Under-18 bow against Bristol City.
He began the 2012-13 season with the Under-18 team and scored his first goal against Manchester City in August 2012, before earning a regular promotion to the Under-21 squad.
For the record I knew all this and in no way had to look it up on Wikipedia.
I've never heard of him but if this is true then I'm glad that it has taken less than a fortnight for Dougie Freedman to go back on his word and head towards the loan market instead of our own burgeoning youth academy.
"Hopefully this time next year we will have more permanents than loans"
Aye.
