Kevin McNaughton Back to Bolton on Loan

Alex Baptiste went to Blackburn on a one year loan earlier today, and now we have learned why.

Guess who's back?

Marc Iles of the Bolton News is reporting that Kevin McNaughton, who played thirteen matches in a loan spell at the Reebok last year, has been re-signed by Dougie Freedman.  The deal is not yet official, and it appears that other sources on Twitter forced Mr. lies to report the story a little earlier than he wanted to do so.

McNaughton was actually supposed to return to Wanderers last January after his initial loan deal expired.  Unfortunately, his form for Bolton was so good that it convinced Cardiff City's new manager Ole Gunnar Solskaer to give the right back a new 1-year contract.

On the surface, Baptiste out and McNaughton in seems like a good bit of business for Bolton Wanderers.  Digging a little bit deeper, I was actually looking onward to seeing some of our young defenders get a chance to win the right back shirt.  Freedman had actually told the press that Oscar Threlkeld and Joe Riley were pushing Baptiste for his spot.  I wonder how the lads will take the news of the McNaughton signing after that.
