Well it looks like Dougie Freedman, Bolton Wanderers manager and part-time comedian, wasn't lying when he said in the BEN today:
"I'm not saying I know everything - but I have a good idea what I need to strengthen before the start of the season, and I'd imagine the fans have got a pretty good idea too,"
"Wishing, guessing, blaming or pointing fingers isn't any good to us at the moment, we need strikers but we've only got ‘x' amount of money.
Free agent Fontaine left Bristol City this summer following eight seasons and nigh on 250 games for the club, with a short loan to Yeovil Town last season topping up a career that has brought over 300 professional appearances since he made the grade at Fulham in 2004.
Clearly he has loads of experience, but shouldn't we be concentrating on improving our striking situation? I'm just your average knee-jerk football fan, but this one has me scratching my head. We'll see what happens.
