Taylor, who joined Bolton in 2008 under the direction of Gary Megson, has spent the last three seasons playing for another ex-Bolton man Sam Allardyce for West Ham United and is believed to be joining Burnley on a free transfer.
Taylor moved to Bolton in January 2008 for £3.5m in an attempt to help the club avoid relegation. His fellow January signings included the likes of Gretar Steinsson and Gary Cahill. He turned down an offer from league minnows Sunderland in the process.
He scored his first goals for Bolton with a brace in the 3-2 home defeat to Arsenal later that year.
He struggled to win over the home fans, though did end up making 123 appearances in his three seasons at the club, scoring 23 goals.
