HOLDEN UPDATE: Stu Given More Time at Bolton

Good news for the American midfielder

Michael Steele

Bolton Wanderers have today revealed that out of contract yet eternally popular USMNT midfielder Stuart Holden will be given more time to complete his rehabilitation from injury.

The 28 year old midfielder suffered his latest injury in March 2014 when he lasted 23 minutes against Everton Reserves at the Reebok Stadium. This surgery was to set him back for another six-nine months and followed hot on the heels of two similar knee injuries suffered in 2011.

The official club website wrote:

When Holden, named the club's 2010/11 Player of the Season, reaches the end stage of his current rehabilitation process he will be eligible for any friendly, under-21 or development squad games.

The news has been met with a positive reaction on social media, hinting at the popularity of the lad who has made only 38 appearances for the Whites since signing for the club in 2010.
