Tom Eaves to Join Coventry City Today?

Bye bye lad

Tony Marshall

According to reports, League One outfit Coventry City are on the brink of signing Bolton Wanderers striker Tom Eaves.

22 year old Liverpudlian Eaves has failed to break into the Wanderers first team since his arrival at the club at the behest of former manager Owen Coyle back in 2010. Eaves memorably scored a hat-trick against Wanderers in a pre-season friendly whilst an Oldham Athletic striker, which prompted Coyle to snap him up.

Eaves joined the Bolton first team on their pre-season tour of America preceding the 2011-12 season, but was injured. He didn't return from the injury until the following summer. Eaves signed a new three-year contract with Bolton in January 2013.

The striker has another year to run at the Reebok Stadium but it's unclear at this stage whether he figures in manager Dougie Freedman's plans at the Championship club that has ambitions of getting back to the Premier League after a two-year absence.
