37. Quade Taylor

Steve Bardens

Name: Quade Taylor

Squad Number: 37

Position: Defender

Nationality: English

Contract Expires: July 2015

Quade Taylor is the latest ex-palace defender to have joined Bolton Wanderers this year, the others being Dean Moxey and Ross Fitzsimons. The defender, who was born 11th December 1993, joins the wanderers on a 12-month deal following his release from Crystal Palace at the end of the season just gone.

Quade Taylor is part of the youthful set of players Dougie Freedman is trying to bring in.The 20 year old, has an unsurprising lack of experience to his name, he spent time between mid-March and mid-April on Loan at Conference side Welling United. There, he made 9 starting appearances, scoring once. He made no appearances for the Crystal Palace first-team, which renders his release unsurprising. He hasn't featured for our first team in pre-season and was an un-used substitute in BWFC XI's victory over Wrexham, so no chance to showcase his talent to the fans.

The Crystal Palace fans don't seem surprised or particularly bothered by his release. They seem content with the amount of players apparently much more able than him available to their club in his position. Analysis of his playing style has achieved reviews of his performances that say 'he lacks composure on the ball and the physical stature to be a blood and thunder centre-back'

All in all I don't think he will be the one to save our shaky defence, but rather sit in our development squad until his probable release at the end of this coming season. There is also the possibility that he will go out on loan, most likely to a conference side as that seems to be his sort of standard, but I don't think he will be strongly challenging for a first-team place this season. If his future is at Bolton, I hope that he matures as a player and lives up to the potential some Palace fans were say he could fulfill.
