The internet and the BEN have both tonight united in reports that Bolton Wanderers are to sign Nottingham Forest utility player Greg Halford on an 'emergency' loan for three months.

Halford, known as a bit of a 'sort' in footballing circles, almost joined the Super Whites on Deadline Day, although Fulham's decision not to sign Jermaine Beckford meant Wanderers were unable to sign the 29 year old Chelmsford-born player.
Somewhat of a football nomad - partially due to his ability to rub people up the wrong way - Halford began his career at Colchester United before ending up at Nottingham Forest following spells with no fewer than seven clubs throughout the league pyramid.
Originally a midfielder, then converted to a defender, but sometimes deployed as a striker, Halford is known to Bolton fans as 'that bell-end who smacked the ball into the fan's face' following a game at the Reebok in 2011.
To conclude, I did like this post from a Forest forum:
He'd fit in perfectly with them.
I kind of admire the blatant cheating he is regularly involved with plus he'd be perfect for their brand of kick and rush football.
