In short, the game against Sheffield Wednesday was...terrible, no goals no chances for us and many lackluster performances. Jay Spearing was poor again, he was also joined in his poor standards by many of the other players, New signing Owen Garvan didn't do much to note of either.
The return of Mark Davies brought happiness to many Bolton fans. He wasn't on the top if his game, which is understandable, but he gave us hope and creativity going forward. Of course, he was subbed midway through the second half.
Lonergan made some decent saves, some he may have made look harder than they were, but some good saves nonetheless, Matt Mills was a rock at centre back, very much overshadowing his partner Dorian Dervite in the back line, he had a lot to do over the course of the game. I could tell the defence had a tough job on their hands when I saw the man mountain Nuhiu line up next to Stevie May, a proven goalscorer.
However, throughout the game Mills, with some help from Dervite (but certainly not Moxey), dealt with the presence of Nuhiu and the threat of May well. He also cleared a shot off the line in the second and also, needing a few saves from Andy Lonergan, kept our first clean sheet of the season. No-one else really deserves the Man of the match it really should just be a toss up between Lonergan and Mills, surely we can expect an improvement on Tuesday?
