It's more reinforcements on the way for Dougie Freedman and Bolton Wanderers. The Lancashire-based relegation candidates are once again jumping into the loan market. Marc Iles of the Bolton News is reporting that Chris Herd, an Australian international, is on the verge of signing a 1-month loan deal at the Macron Stadium.
Herd only appeared twice for Aston Villa in the entire 2013-2014 season, so it is unclear how fit he would be, should the deal be completed. Iles is confident though, as he stated that Herd should be registered and available for Wanderers' Capital One Cup match against Chelsea on Wednesday night.
In the past couple of months, Bolton have tried to entirely remake their back line. Dean Moxey was signed from Crystal Palace. Dorian Dervite was signed from Charlton. Kevin McNaughton was signed from Cardiff City. And now Chris Heard from Aston Villa. Even youngsters Oscar Threlkeld and Hayden White have been given some opportunities to show what they can do. At least the powers that be at the club realize what the problem is. The disaster of a defense Bolton has had for 4 years now needs to be fixed. Maybe Herd will help. He certainly can't be worse than what we are already running out there.
