The BEN has revealed that Bolton Wanderers' Korean winger Lee Chung Yong has been appointed captain of the Korean national team ahead of this week's fixtures against Uruguay and Venezuela.
The player will gain his 60th cap by the second game, having made his debut in May 2008.
He was given his national team debut by manager Huh Jung-Moo in the 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualification match against Jordan.
Lee would score his first national team goal against the same team in the return leg at home on 5 September 2008 in Seoul World Cup Stadium. He has also gone on to play in two consecutive World Cup Finals.
The winger is in the last year of his Bolton Wanderers contract having joined in 2009 from FC Seoul.
He has gone on to make 158 appearances for the club, scoring 14 goals although has faced criticism this season following some lacklustre performances in the Championship.
