It is being reported tonight that Bolton Wanderers have agreed a loan deal with Portuguese giants Benfica to loan their 19 year old midfielder Diogo Filipe Costa Rocha known as Rochinha, until the end of the season.
Wanderers are believed to be on the brink of losing Korean midfielder Lee Chung Yong to Crystal Palace for £1.25m rising to £2.5m with add-ons, and manager Neil Lennon appears to be spending some of that money already.
Rochinha has yet to make his senior debut for Benfica, though he has made 5 assists and scored 6 goals for their B side the in 2013-14 UEFA Youth League. On 1 October 2014, Rochinha made his professional league debut against Santa Clara in Segunda Liga.
He began his career at Porto, before taking in spells with Feirense and Boavista before joining Benfica.
He would become Wanderers' first signing of this transfer window which has just a week to run.
The player posted the following message on his Instagram account:
"Foram 3 anos com este emblema ao peito e devo muito a este clube, ajudaram-me a crescer como jogador e como homem.
Quero agradecer a todos aqueles que depositaram confiança em mim, a esses prometo não desiludir.
Um agradecimento especial para a massa associativa que sempre nos acompanha para todo o lado.
Obrigado SLBenfica !!!"
