Alright gentlemen, it's time to approach the ladies in your life about Valentine's Day plans. Flowers, chocolates, ice sculptures, or whatever else she fancies will have to wait until Sunday 15 February. Unless Liverpool win at the Macron Stadium on February 4. In which case we will be in no mood to celebrate anyway.
Crystal Palace advanced to this round by defeating Premier League high-flyers Southhampton 3-2 at St. Mary's. Two goals from Marouane Chamakh were key for the men from London. No doubt Palace would also like to have Bolton Wanderers' talisman Chung-Yong Lee in their side for this match, but that move appears to have hit a snag over wage demands, among other financial issues.
Under Dougie Freedman Bolton had a large contingent of former Palace players. However, Neil Lennon does not seem to rate most of them. So aside from Dean Moxey, who (unexpectedly) put in a good performance versus Liverpool, there are not a lot of potential homecomings.
At any rate, it's a good matchup, if Bolton prevail, of course.
