Bolton Wanderers are set to sign Shola Ameobi, 33 year old Palace reject, to solve our striker problem. Ameobi was offered a coaching job at Crystal Palace by Alan Pardew but turned it down, presumably because he wants to keep playing. After coming to Bolton on trial at the beginning of October, Wellington Silva's 10 week lay off may have played a hand in increasing contract negotiations. He is currently a free agent,
He has a goal ratio of around one in five, which isn't promising for our goal scoring difficulties. The only testament we have is that he helped Newcastle win promotion, however that was in 2010. He has played 400 times for the Magpies and then played in Turkey, coming back to the premier league to reunite with Alan Pardew at Palace.
This signing has been predicted by Marc Iles, friend of the site, who's tweet can be found here.
Understand Shola Ameobi will sign a short-term deal with #bwfc today and could face Leeds United tomorrow... Story coming up soon. #lufc
