Bolton Wanderers Fan Needs Your Help to Cure Illness!

A bit of seriousness for you, on a Sunday night

We normally bring you a spot of levity - especially on a weekend evening after another Bolton Wanderers defeat - but tonight we have something a bit more serious to ask of you, our lovely readers.

We have been contacted by a reader, Jay Carter, regarding a certain Aaron Richardson who's son was diagnosed with duchenne muscular dystrophy. This terrible disease affects around 1 in 3,600 boys, and which results in muscle degeneration and, sadly, premature death.

Over the past couple of years, Jay and his mates have been undertaking a variety of charity events to try and raise money towards finding a cure.

Friends Kirk Hilton and Ashley Lowe recently ran the Bolton Iron Man race man to raise money for the charity and now a load of matchgoing friends have decided to put on a charity boxing event at Club147 in Walkden.

You can contact Mr Carter via his twitter page @TSO58 where he would be delighted to assist in arranging tickets. The event takes place at the club, which is found at 260 Manchester Road, Lynneshawe Mill, Walkden M28 3TR.

Of course we wish them all the luck in the world and hope they raise a fortune for the poor lad.
