Tonight, Bolton play Charlton in what is already being described as a relegation 6 pointer. Charlton are 1 point above safety and Bolton are 5 points below. Both teams need a win and so we could be in for a rough game. Or maybe one team will, the unpaid Bolton players may not be able to pull out the type of performance that we've been lacking. This is, by some accounts, the fifth consecutive must win game, none of which have resulted in a victory.
Gary Madine is a doubt to start and Alex Samizadeh's absence from the U21s last night could suggest a call up to the first team. However, it would be an odd time to sign him on a professional deal, considering the first team went without heir wages last month. Shola Ameobi is suffering from a groin injury and Prstley from concussion, after taking one of Danns' free kicks to the back of the head. Jose Casado returns from suspension.
Could be a start for Ricardo Vaz Te, who trained with Bolton but couldn't sign on, due to wage demands. With Johnny Jackson returning from injury and Patrick Bauer from suspension, manager Karel Fraeye has a nearly full squad available.
Bolton Wanderers, 24th - LDDL
Charlton Athletic, 21st - DLLW
Liam Feeney - 4
Johnnie Jackson - 3
You'd expect players to rise to the challenge of a relegation scrap, but so far this season Bolton have faced many challenges and rarely are able to succeed. 1-0 Charlton in another bad game and everyone is going to be miserable.
