Get in there! Get right bloody in there! Finally a win and a decent performance to boot. We came on the back of that defeat to Rotherham, which ranks as one of the darkest days in recent years for us; what a response.

For once we can go around with pride at our team. Every single player did their bit. Madine won headers, Wheater was a rock and Feeney did things! Prince gave a good rendition of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde but was ultimately better than Dervite by a factor of over 9000. Holding also deserves praise for looking a natural at right back.

We had one or two moments that in other weeks could be punished. Pratley definitely handled the ball in the box and Prince and Amos had a moment of pure dumbassatude which in other weeks would have gone flying in to our own net. In stoppage time they had a shot hit the post which has left my bum hole still unable to unclench. Ultimately lady luck was on our side but I think we’re long overdue.

The defence was particular cause for celebration, players flung themselves in front of shots and even showed good touches and strength under pressure. That has to be the key for us this season. We are not going to score lots but if that defence can replicate that performance, we’ll always be in with a shout.

We now have to build on this. It deserves noting that this win hasn’t been far away all season. 11 draws which could have been oh so different with 1 extra goal from us. Hopefully this isn’t a false dawn and we can kick on and turn them in to wins now! Enjoy the feeling!
