Transfer Gossip: Bolton Wanderers defender Francesco Pisano linked with Italy Return

New, comments

The rumours are coming thick and fast.

According to reports from site HITC.com, which came from Italian Site tuttomercatoweb (link here), Bolton Wanderers defender Francesco Pisano is wanted by Serie A team Atlanta and Serie B team Ascoli.

"Ascoli and now Atalanta is added to the category of teams interested in Francesco Pisano. As collected by Tuttomercatoweb, Atalanta will test the waters with Bolton in the weeks to come," the report reads.

Pisano, a former Italy U21 international, played for Cagliari for 11 years before leaving for the Macron Stadium on a free transfer during the summer.

Pisano has only made a handful of appearances since he made his debut against Brighton & Hove Albion in September. His last appearance came as a substitute in Bolton's 0-0 draw away at Preston North End in October.

Pisano hasn't even made the bench since then.

Rumours of Bolton player departures have been coming thick and fast in recent weeks. Mark Davies has been linked to Middlesbrough and Dean Moxey to Bristol City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Cardiff City have also tabled a bid of £450,000 for Josh Vela, however it's thought the club will want to keep Vela.

Bolton statement and new appointment

News came out today that Bolton Wanderers have paid the players for December, while also announcing the appointment of Terry Robinson, former chairman of Bury and Sheffield United, to oversee the sale of Bolton's high earners.

"We can also confirm that Terry Robinson is now working with the club in a review of all of the club’s operations.

"We will continue to update everyone as soon as we are able to show further progress. In the meantime the club would like to thank all supporters for their continued and valued support."
