Question Time: Cardiff City with @JamieBluebird

All ya need to know

Bolton Wanderers' day of reckoning is here. Later on today the Whites will play in another must win game in order to end the 84 days without a win streak and to finally gain some upwards projection to get off the foot of the table. With the week we've had it would almost be a fairytale ending if the Whites were to win, but the team standing in our way is Cardiff City.

Sitting in 10th it's not been a bad campaign for the red dragons Blue Birds, but I'll late Cardiff fan, Jamie Pryor, fill you in with the details.

1) How come you're not actually doing shite this season like I expected, and are actually doing pretty well?

We aren't doing bad but could be a lot better if we had held onto points which we should have. Notably and recently the Burnley game where we were 2-0 up with 10 mins to go. We are having issues seeing games out at the moment. We aren't losing many but also there are too many draws in there if we want to push on into 2nd half of season.

2) Where do you think you will finish this season?

All depends to be honest. If we improve the squad in January by making the Tony Watt signing permanent and adding a winger and another striker we may push for top 6, but if we stay as we are we'll probably finish where we are now and fade away come February/March.

3) Are you looking forward to not conceding three goals to us this season?

Haha hopefully we wont this season. Russell has tightened things up at the back this season and we aren't conceding a lot at the moment. Scoring has been our problem for the last couple of months.

4) Why were you always so keen to get rid of your best striker (Adam Le Fondre)?

He never really got going at the club. Worked very hard off the ball but we couldn't really create chances for him in front of goal. At the time we were a long ball team and system and style didn't suit him. Confidence was shot and was missing the chances he was having. Also wages were huge and Russell needed to slash wage bill by 12 million. Made sense for him to go out on loan to save money for us and get confidence back himself.

5) Cardiff have seemed like a club on the verge of an implosion in years, has everything settled down a bit now?

We have weathered the storm as they may say. From the drama and conspiracy with Malky and the race row and the ever spending spree on garbage of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Russell has come in and slashed the wage bill and got rid of the dead weight. He has stamped his authority on squad and off field issues are behind us, for now anyway.

6)We need a new owner and yours is a psychopathic Asian. Should we keep our ownership English or look overseas?

It all depends on the owner. There are foreign owners out there who are doing a good job at clubs. QPR have got a good one in Fernandes, looks like we picked the wrong Malaysian in that case but there are owners out there from foreign countries which are doing a great job.

7) Saturday could see two titans colliding, it could very well be the Ameobi derby. Which brother is worse?

I'd say on talent our Sami Ameobi has the more ability without ever realising it as of yet. Suppose Shola Ameobi is older and done a lot more in career. Let's be honest they are hardly the Neville or Bender brothers in terms of quality, are they?

8) How's former White Joe Mason doing?

Mason flatters to deceive a lot. He has five goals in league but it could be a lot more. Being honest, he offers very little in terms of quality and work ethic, where he looks busy he just runs around in little circles offering nothing as an attacking sense. When all strikers fit he will find it hard to make the bench in my opinion.

9) Do you think our current ‘predicament' will help or hinder you on Saturday?

It could go either way, we have struggled against sides at the bottom as we lost at Rotherham, Leeds and MK Dons in the cup so we need to be on our game if we want anything from the match.

10) Who's your best player these days?

Obviously David Marshall is by far and away our best and most important player. By far the best goalkeeper outside the Premier League. Matt Connelly and Fabio have been immense at the back but for me, as an outfield player, Joe Ralls has been exceptional and has overtaken Peter Whittingham in quality and importance in the middle of the park.

11) What type of football can we expect Cardiff to try and play on Saturday?

We'll try to play football but mostly in our own half with not a lot of penetration going forward. Don't be surprised that if nothing is working we go back to lump it up to Kenwyne Jones and hope for the best.

12) Any Bolton players you're concerned about going into the game?

If I'm honest I haven't been keeping tabs on Bolton and the bottom half of the table. I think with the players you've let go and brought in it's hard to keep track. A bit like us tbh. Former Jack Darren Pratley always has a good game against us.

13) Finally, how do you see the game going and what will the score be?

In my opinion, I think it all depends on who Russell plays and where he plays them. We're a much better side when Ralls plays CM, if that happens I think it can only be one result.

I'll go 2-1 Cardiff.
