Transfer Gossip: Bolton Linked with Northampton Youngster

The prestigious The72.co.uk have linked Bolton Wanderers with yet another name, this time Northampton Town's 19 year-old striker, Ivan Toney.

The boy wonder has also got Norwich City and Wolverhampton Wanderers chasing him, according to The72.co.uk, which all but puts us out of any sort of race for the forward, as he still has a year remaining on a contract and a £500k price point is being touted, and god knows we have no funds to actually purchase a player.

Never the less, it's certainly an interesting name to be linked with. Toney was the Cobblers top goal scorer last season, netting eleven goals in 44 games. He also assisted a further four goals.

Unfortunately, however, we're all aware of the financial situation at the club, and since The72.co.uk recently linked us with a £2m move for a Norwegian goalkeeper, I'd take this news with quite a large pinch of salt.
